Spokane, WA (Sports Network) - Elias Harris tallied a double-double with 19
points and 16 rebounds as the Gonzaga Bulldogs took down the BYU Cougars 74-63
in West Coast Conference action at the McCarthy Athletic Center.
Kevin Pangos scored 18 points for Gonzaga (22-5, 12-3 WCC), which has won five
of its last six. Gary Bell Jr. added 12 points for the Bulldogs.
For BYU (23-7, 11-4), Brandon Davies led all scorers with 23 points and he
also grabbed 10 rebounds. Matt Carlino chipped in 18 points and Charles Abouo
had a double-double as well with 10 points and 10 boards for the Cougars, who
snapped a five-game winning streak.
Even though Gonzaga shot just 35.7 percent from the field in the first half,
it took a 37-27 lead after the opening stanza by holding BYU to just 25
The Bulldogs improved their field goal shooting to 46.2 percent after halftime
as they held on to win.
The difference was made at the foul line, where Gonzaga drained 36-of-44 free-
throws. BYU went just 9-of-16 from the stripe.
