(bisons.com)-The Bisons hit three more home runs Saturday and still lead the International League in homers on the season.

But the long balls were not enough for the win, as the Knights took down the Herd 5-4 with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Ricky Romero bounced back from his last start, throwing six innings and allowing three runs on six hits for the Herd. The left-hander got the no-decision, but struck out seven batters while walking just one on the night.

Buffalo was 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left five runners on base.

Charlotte took the lead back from the Bisons in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Angel Sanchez led off with a double, while Blake Tekotte followed that with a single that deflected off of Gomez, moving Sanchez to third. Carlos Sanchez singled to left field, scoring Angel Sanchez to cut the Bisons lead to 2-1.

Two batters later, Mike McDade singled to right, scoring Tekotte. Josh Phegley then hit a sac-fly to right field to score Carlos Sanchez and the game was tied at three going into the seventh.

The Bisons regained the lead in the seventh.

Mike McCoy, who was playing third base for the Herd Saturday, led off with a double to center. Kevin Pillar hit his first home run of the season to put the Bisons back on top, 4-3.

With the home run, Pillar has now reached base safely in nine straight games. Pillar led the Herd with two RBI's in the game.

Tekotte had his third hit of the game with a double to right to lead off the eighth. Sanchez bunted him over to third on the sacrifice and after a pitching change for the Herd, Steve Tolleson popped up to second baseman Eugenio Velez, which allowed Tekotte to score and tie the game at four.

Luis Jimenez put the Herd up 2-0 with a solo shot in the top of the sixth. The homer was the clean-up hitter's 16th of the season, which is second on the team behind Mauro Gomez who has 24 homers on the year.

Ryan Goins hit a solo home run to left center field in the top of the first inning to give the Herd a 1-0 lead. It was Goins third homer of the season.

Joel Correno came in relief and threw 1.1 innings. He allowed just one hit and one earned run.

Brad Lincoln took the loss for the Bisons to go to 1-2 on the season. He allowed four hits and the game-winning run in the ninth, while striking out one.
