The Bills had a depleted secondary heading into today's game with safety Aaron Williams being the only member of the Bills projected opening week secondary active. Cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore and Leodis Mckelvin and Safety Jairus Byrd all sat out today's game due to injuries.
Despite the setbacks in the secondary the Bills were able to force five interceptions, three of which came from defensive backs.
The Bills injury luck however did not change during the game as Williams eventually left the game with a lower back injury. Running backs Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller and Right Guard Kraig Urbik also suffered injuries but returned to the game. All four are expected to play Thursday against Cleveland.
"We've had a lot of adversity throughout every part of the program,
whether it be injuries, whether it be schematics, the coaching, trying
to get people into the right spot," said Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone.
