BUFFALO, N.Y. - As the Buffalo Sabres got back to work Monday, they were coming off of a weekend that saw them split with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
There's a new energy with this team. With the leadership change that took place last week, it seems that with the players, the atmosphere in the room is more fun, and more upbeat.
Ryan Miller is one of the players who says he notices a difference, particularly on the bench. "The guys are actively into it on the bench, engaged, they're yelling for the guys," says Miller.
Forward Matt Moulson adds, "when you're working hard, you can have a little fun. I think the last couple days we've become more cohesive as a team."
Interim Head Coach Ted Nolan echoed that, but expanded on it as well. "Winning is fun, those things usually go hand in hand...when you compete, you (win). I just told the guys that this morning," said Nolan
The Sabres have a big test tomorrow as the St Louis Blues come to town.
