Violent Domestic Leads to Standoff With Lackawanna Police

LACKAWANNA, NY--  A violent domestic incident led to a stand off with Lackawanna Police Thursday.

Lackawanna Police were called to a home on Magnolia Street just after 6pm.

Officers says they found a 31-year-old female suffering from head trauma. She said was able to escape the house, along with her eight-year-old daughter, who was not injured.  

The suspect, a 42-year-old male, refused to come out and told police he was armed.

After four hours of negotiations, the suspect finally surrendered. He was charged with: Assault 2nd, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Strangulation, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The woman was taken to ECMC.  Her condition is not known at this time.
