Buffalo - N.Y. - Buffalo's blaze busters responded to a call that a vacant home at 173 Keystone St. was fully engulfed around 2:15am Friday morning.

Once on scene Buffalo firemen began defensive operations and called in the second alarm to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent vacant homes on each side of the primary fire.

Residents along Walden Ave told 2 On Your Side that they heard an explosion just before 2:15am, however fire officials could not verify those claims as their investigation was still ongoing.

The primary house fire at 173 Keystone was a total loss and the adjacent homes suffered an undisclosed amount of damage. Fire crews did enter those vacant homes to prevent the primary fire from spreading.

One Buffalo fireman was taken to ECMC to be treated for a knee injury suffered on the scene.
