BUFFALO, NY - With less than one week to go before Election Day, the race for Erie County Comptroller has gotten a bit more heated.
A new "attack" ad is airing on local television stations, produced by the campaign of republican incumbent Stefan Mychajliw, which takes aim at democrat challenger Kevin Gaughan's problems with unpaid income taxes.
The crux of the message is that if Gaughan had trouble with his own finances, he should not be trusted to watch over Erie County's as Comptroller.
But are all the allegations made in the ad true...and can it stand up to the scrutiny of the Two On Your Side Truth Test?
