Blackened Flatiron with Porcini Mushroom Sauce Recipe

Preparation Time: 45 minutes


macadamia nut oil

1 1/2 lbs flatiron steak

2 tbsps blackening seasoning (Use low sodium -Check the lable)

1 bunch asparagus tips

1 tsp garlic

½ cup porcini mushrooms


  1. Coat grill rack with cooking spray; preheat grill or cast iron pan
  2. Cut steak into four portions, if desired. Season both sides of steaks with blackening seasoning. Place steaks on grill (wash hands); close lid (or cover loosely with foil). Grill 4-6 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
  3. In skillet with oil, cook mushrooms garlic and aparagus with salt over moderately high heat, stirring occasionally, until liquid mushrooms give off is evaporated, about 5 minutes. Add broth and bring to a boil.
