WEST SENECA, N.Y. -- A 29-year-old Lackawanna man is charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of an acquaintance during an argument that turned violent.

Daniel Jordan was arraigned Thursday afternoon in West Seneca Town Court and sent to the Erie County jail on $50,000 bail.

Police say the victim, 31-year-old David Phillips, was in stable condition Thursday at ECMC. He had been stabbed numerous times in the face and neck.

Police say the building's landlord heard the men fighting and went into the apartment where he wrestled with the suspect and disarmed him. Police credit the landlord with saving Phillips' life.
