Della Mostra near Shea's

BUFFALO, NY -- The Queen City's downtown Theatre District is now home to a brand new restaurant featuring Italian-style cuisine.

Shea's Performing Arts Center and Mulberry Italian Ristorante recently announced their partnership and the Grand Opening of the new Della Mostra restaurant, formerly known as the Intermission Lounge at 658 Main Street, located next door to the Shea's Ticket Office.

The new restaurant held a private Grand Opening event Monday evening so that patrons could preview the menu and the overall contemporary atmosphere.

President of Shea's Performing Arts Center, Tony Conte, is excited about the new addition. "We felt we wanted to upscale things a little bit and bring something different and unique into downtown Buffalo so we began looking for a partner that we thought could do that, and do it successfully. We met with Joe Jerge, who is one of the partners in Mulberry's, and over a couple of months we worked out a deal, and here we are."

Patrons of the area were one of the main reasons that Shea's and Mulberry's decided to create this partnership. One of the concerns people had was the lack of variety when it comes to dining options downtown. Conte believes that Della Mostra will bring something new and different to the table.

"They [customers] can expect a unique Italian menu that has some very unique and different dishes, along with some of the things like the famous 'Mulberry Meatball'. The portions are a little bit smaller. If you've been to Mulberry's, you generally take food home for the next four or five days. Because people are going to theatre here, it's going to be a little bit different. We're going to serve a smaller portion so they don't fall asleep in the theatre and disturb the people next to them," said Conte, smiling.

Della Mostra will only be open on days that shows are being held at Shea's. Patrons will be able to dine two hours prior to show start, as well as during intermission for cocktails. The restaurant will officially be open to the public on January 25 prior to the show, Blast!
