BUFFALO, NY - It's official! Buffalo has opened all of its public pools as of 11am Sunday morning.
A total of 7 pools and 8 splash pads are open all day, everyday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Mayor Byron Brown said $200,000 was spent on pool improvements this year alone. The improvements include deck work, pool painting, filter repairs and plumbing maintenance.
Saturday, Brown decided to open the city's most accessible pool, Centennial Pool, a day early because of the extremely high temperatures.
The city's splash pads were also opened early due to the extreme heat we've been experiencing.
Kensington pool will be closed for Sunday only while crews repair the shut off valve. It is expected to be open on Monday.
