BUFFALO, N.Y. - There is a very good chance the Buffalo Sabres will have all 24 home games sold out for 2013 season.
Single game tickets went on sale to the general public on Tuesday. Just about an hour after they went on sale, only single seats were available for a handful of games.
As of Tuesday afternoon, 14,000 tickets remained for the entire season scheduled.
On Sunday, the Sabres sold more than 31,000 tickets to season ticket holders - setting a franchise record.
It is clear Sabres fans are not going to hold a grudge against the team despite a lockout that canceled close to half of the regular season.
On Monday night, more than 10,000 fans were on hand at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo for a Sabres scrimmage. The team allowed fans in for free and had discounted food items.
The Sabres regular season opener is on Sunday at First Niagara Center against the Philadelphia Flyers. Faceoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. You can watch the game on Channel 2 and NBC. Two On Your Side will air a special Countdown 2 Faceoff pre-game show show at Noon on Channel 2.
