SAN DIEGO (AP) - Just how dominant was Tiger Woods at in the Farmers Insurance Open? He gave up four shots over the last five holes and still won with ease as he continued his success at Torrey Pines.
Woods became the first PGA Tour player to win eight times at a single course, a mark that includes his playoff win in the 2008 U.S. Open. He closed with an even-par 72 for a 14-under total four strokes ahead of defending champ Brandt Snedeker and Josh Teater.
The margin of victory was a bit deceiving. Woods led by eight strokes before suffering a double bogey and bogey on the back nine.
This was Woods' 75th career title. Twenty-two of those victories have come at three courses -- eight at Torrey Pines and seven each at Bay Hill in Florida and Firestone in Ohio. Woods is seven victories away from tying Sam Snead for the all-time record of 82 Tour wins.
