Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Ryan Nicholas knocked down all five of his 3-
point attempts to tally 21 points and lift the Portland Pilots to a 69-60 win
over the Loyola Marymount Lions in a West Coast Conference matchup at the
Tanner Riley connected on 4-of-5 from beyond the arc for Portland (9-16, 2-8
WCC) to generate 17 points in 24 minutes off the bench while Thomas van der
Mars went 6-of-8 from the field en route to 14 points. Van der Mars also
pulled down seven rebounds to help the Pilots snap a six-game losing streak.
Anthony Ireland poured in 21 points and dished out five assists to pace Loyola
Marymount (8-15, 1-9) in the setback. Ayodeji Egbeyemi and Godwin Okonji
scored 10 points apiece as the Lions were defeated for the seventh time in a
Loyola Marymount hit 45.8 percent of its field goal tries and converted 6-of-7
