SENECA NATION INDIAN RESERVATION, N.Y. - Erie County Sheriffs Deputies say they arrested a Collins man for DWI on Southwestern Blvd following a hit and run accident Saturday.
Deputies arrested John Darwin, 50, after responding to a hit and run property damage accident on the Seneca Nation Reservation shortly after 5:30 a.m.
Police say Darwin struck another vehicle in the back and then left the area.
Deputies and Seneca National Marshals were able to find Darwin, who was intoxicated, a short time later.
Police say Darwin was "very uncooperative" and refused a chemical test.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office says Darwin is charged with DWI, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and a number of traffic violations.
Deputies also added that Darwin had an active warrant out for his arrest by State Police for criminal mischief.
Police say that Darwin was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
