KENMORE, N.Y.- It's an understatement to say St. Joe's is excited to get a rematch against Monsignor Martin powerhouse Canisius on Saturday. St. Joe's lost to Canisius earlier this season, 77-65, but St. Joe's starting senior guards, #3 Jaylen Morris and #5 Jordan Glover, were knocked out of the game after an early second quarter collision. If St. Joe's wins this game they will get a share of the league title, but if Canisius comes out with the victory they will be the outright league champions.

"I would say we're extremely anxious to have another shot at Canisius" said St. Joe's Head Coach Mark Simon, "It was unfortunate what happened to Jaylen and Jordan in game one, it was competitive up until that point." Senior # 5 Jordan Glover said, "we had the lead at the end of the first quarter against a very good team, we started playing together, but as you know me and Jay got hurt, they took the lead, but we stuck together and played a good game."

Canisius is 18-4 overall, 11-0 in league play, St. Joe's is 19-4, 9-1 in the league. St. Joe's has their minds set on having a share of the Monsignor Martin league title. Coach Simon said " to share the league title with them would be a great accomplishment, then we go into the playoffs, and maybe it'll happen again." # 3 Jaylen Morris added "it'd be great to end the championship reign for them, we really want our year on the banner, and that's what we've been planning for the whole season."

But St. Joe's knows this game is not going to be an easy task. Canisius' stand out wingman Adam Weir is one of the toughest players around to guard. " Adam Weir is probably the best basketball player in Western New York and is physically hard to defend. Aaron White is a great point guard, and Matt MacDonald can shoot it. They are very diverse in what they can do" said Coach Mark Simon. # 5 Jordan Glover said " They turn defense into offense and are a good transistion team. The two wingmen they have, Adam and Matt, you have to control them and not let them get out on the break. Matt likes to leak out a little bit, so we have to make sure we get back and stop them in transition, and we'll come out with the W."

The game will be on Saturday at 2pm in the Koessler Center on Canisius College campus. Channel 2's Stu Boyar asked # 5 Jordan Glover what it's like to play at the Koessler Center, he said " It's a great atmosphere, it's pretty loud, you can't really hear what coach is saying on the sidelines, but you have to really handle your emotions." #30 Louis Oliveri added " It's pretty crazy, 2,000 people watching a basketball game, it's a big rivalry, we have all the students from each school coming, chants back and forth, it's fun to play in and a good expirience."

St. Joe's has been waiting for this game, and are ready to seize the opportunity. #30 Louis Oliveri said "it's been a month since our first game, it left a bad taste in our mouth with Jordan and Jaylen not playing the rest of the game". "It's been in the back of our minds since that game ended. Throughout the season you have other battles that you have to go against, we had to work our way up to this game, and handle business in between the two, now its finally here, and we're pretty ready for the game." said # 5 Jordan Glover.
