NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. - A fugitive who skipped out on a sex abuse trial in January has been caught.

Paul Turley and his wife were arrested by U.S. Marshalls Friday at a mobile home in Tuscon, Arizona.

He was arraigned on charges of fleeing from police.  Additional charges are pending.  Diane Turley was charged with hindering prosecution.

Investigators followed leads that led them to the couple.  Authorities say Turley had also spent some time in Wisconsin, Michigan, and New Mexico, before he met up with a former acquaintance in Arizona.

That person is originally from Western New York.  Police do not know if that person was aware that Turley was a fugitive.

A jury in Niagara County convicted the Dunkirk man for crimes police say happened in North Tonawanda in the mid to late '90s.

Turley had been on the run since he left the courtroom during a lunch break, before the trial jury was picked.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Department, Department of Homeland Security, and local authorities in Arizona helped with the case.
