BUFFALO, N.Y.-A major collapse in the 4th quarter on Friday by the Buffalo Bandits moved the Philadelphia Wings into second place in the Eastern Division and the Bandits back to third place. The Wings tied the game at 10 a piece with a goal by Jordan Hall with 3.7 seconds left in the game, and pulled out a hard earned 11-10 win in OT.
The Bandits coming off a road win at Toronto on Thursday, came into the game with an edge of confidence. The Bandits left the First Niagara Center stunned, having gave up 3 goals in the final 7 minutes of regulation, and the the game winning goal in OT. The wings improve to 5-3 on the season, and have now won 3 straight games. The wings were led by Drew Westervelt and Paul Rabil, who had 3 goals each. Westervelt recorded his 150th career goal on his game winning shot in overtime.
Even though the Bandits played a solid 3 quarters and went 5-for-8 on powerplays, they couldn't finish the game. Shawn Williams led the way for the Bandits with 6 points, 2 goals and 4 assists. Luke Wiles had 3 goals, and 1 assist, and Jay Thorimbert recovered a game-high 14 loose balls. Buffalo's Goalie Anthony Cosmo had 44 saves on 55 shots.
The Bandits have a week off, they will play next Saturday at the First Niagara Center in the first of a back-to-back with the Colorado Mammoth at 7:30 PM
