BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Jason Pominville scored twice in regulation and added a shootout goal, and the Buffalo Sabres extended their winning streak to three games by beating the New Jersey Devils 4-3 on Saturday.

"Obviously, we would like to have Thomas [Vanek] out there, he is an important part to the team, but at the same time, it shows you that when you work as a team, and you stick to the system, the system is built to support everyone," said Pominville. "It's not a one guy team and I think we showed it tonight with a gutsy effort by everyone."

Tyler Ennis also scored in the shootout while Ryan Miller stopped both shootout attempts after making 28 saves in regulation.

"I think we're not getting down on ourselves when the other team scores," said Ennis. "That might be the biggest thing, when that happens we're staying positive, working hard and doing the little things. We're working hard for 60 minutes."

Cody Hodgson had two assists and Jochen Hecht also scored for Buffalo, which improved to 3-2-0 since Ron Rolston took over as interim coach after Lindy Ruff was fired.

The three-game win streak is Buffalo's longest since the team won five straight from March 19-27 last season.

"The building came alive during the third period," said Sabres forward Steve Ott. "It's an understatement how much energy you get from loud fans and fans that want to cheer for you. We've been waiting for this; we obviously haven't shown them everything we have but its definitely a huge bonus when you have 19,070 on their feet."

Adam Henrique, Steve Bernier and Andrei Loktionov scored for the Devils. New Jersey is 1-4-2 in its past seven.
