BATAVIA, NY - Another local industrial development agency is spending tax dollars to help a national retailer move into town.

The Genesee County Economic Development Center approved an $18 million plan Thursday to expand the Batavia Transit Center to make room for three national retailers, one of which is expected to be a Dick's Sporting Goods Store that would move in by the end of the year.

Included in the plan is $1.7 in tax incentives for Upstate New York-based COR Development, which is leading the expansion effort.

The EDC unanimously approved the plan with one member absent.
