BUFFALO, NY-- Earthquakes Canada is reporting a 5.2 magnitude earthquake in Shawville, Quebec just before 10am this morning, followed by a 4.1M aftershock.
The United States Geologicial Survey (USGS) is also reporting the earthquake in Shawville, Quebec, but report it was a 4.4. magnitude.
Earthquake Canada, a government agency, had first reported the earthquake occurred in Braeside, Ontario.
The earthquake which are more than 300 miles away from Buffalo, were felt by folks in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Amherst, Williamsville, Lewiston, Getzville and Rochester.
The earthquake was felt in several communities throughout the region. The USGS has provided a map showing them.
At this time, there are no reports of any injuries, but some folks in WNY say their walls were shaking and items even fell off the walls.
