LOCKPORT, NY-- A man who admitted he murdered a Niagara County woman last November could spend the rest of his life in prison.
Brian Lowry was ordered to spend 15 years to life behind bars for the death of his then girlfriend 34-year-old Heather Rylowicz.
Her body was found in her home on Lincoln Avenue.
Police say Lowry beat her with a hammer, then slit her throat.
The victim's father, Frank, says the 15 year minimum isn't enough for a crime that brutal.
"When we went to identify her, we had to look, identify her through her tattoos. And that was...that's the hardest thing. We did not get closure because of that. And I would have liked to have seen my daughter and said goodbye in a coffin," said Heather's father Frank Rylowicz.
Frank Rylowicz spoke in court and says Lowry didn't look at him once.
