GRAND ISLAND, NY - Police making a routine traffic stop learned that the driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Kristyn M. Dowd of Baseline Road, was wanted on an arrest warrant issued in the City of Buffalo.
Dowd was taken into custody by an Erie County Sheriff's deputy. During a search of her vehicle prior to it being towed away, the deputy found 10 small bags of heroin and a handful of hypodermic needles, according to a statement released by the Sheriff's Office.
Dowd was then charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminal possession of hypodermic instrument.
She was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment at Grand Island Town Court.
