Strong Storms Move Through WNY

BUFFALO, N.Y.  -- Storm Team 2 is keeping an eye on thunderstorms moving through Western New York.

An urban and small stream flood advisory was in effect in Erie, Genesee, Niagara and Orleans Counties until 4:15 a.m. Saturday.

The weather service says storms will likely produce another inch of rain across the area after midnight.

A travel ban was in effect in Niagara Falls, N.Y. due to flooding.  Travel was not allowed from Pine Avenue North to the city limit & Hyde Park West to Whirlpool. That was changed to a travel advisory Saturday morning.

Environment Canada issued a Tornado Warning for Niagara Falls, Ontario, Welland, Ontario, and the Southern Niagara Region.  That warning expired at 8:45 p.m. 

A Small Craft Advisory was in effect for Lakes Erie and Ontario until 4:00 a.m. Saturday.  Waves were as high as five feet due to strong winds.

THE RAIN: A line of T-Storms will move across Western New York late Friday evening and overnight into Saturday morning bringing the potential for damaging winds, hail and lighting.
