YOUNGSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Changes continue at the Coast Guard in western New York. In recent weeks, new commanders have been named for the Buffalo station and Buffalo sector which oversees it.

On Friday, the Niagara station will hold a change-of-command ceremony.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Adam Pedzich will take charge of the station, located on the Niagara River in Youngstown. He last served as executive petty officer of the Coast Guard cutter Crocodile, an 87-foot patrol boat in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Pedzich will take over for Senior Chief Petty Officer Dennis O'Connell, who has been temporarily filling in as officer-in-charge in Niagara, while also leading the Buffalo unit.

O'Connell is headed to a Coast Guard duty station in Boston.
