CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - Family members are looking for an 81-year-old Cheektowaga man who has been missing since Tuesday.
Pasquale DeNora was last seen at JFK Airport in New York City Tuesday night, when he was supposed to catch a connecting flight to Buffalo. He was returning from a trip to his birthplace in Italy.
The man's son, Nick DeNora of Amherst, tells 2 On Your Side that it's not known why his father missed the flight to Buffalo. He said his father has mild vascular dementia but is capable of looking after himself. He was supposed to have a wheelchair escort between flights, but for some reason that didn't happen. His father is seen walking with his carry-on luggage in security camera video from terminal 4 of JFK Airport, DeNora says.
He is described as 5' 8" tall, about 200 pounds, with hazel eyes and white hair. An American citizen, he speaks fluent English with an Italian accent. He was wearing a black, hip-length raincoat with a white lining, blue jeans and brown shoes, and carrying a sling bag with one strap.
A spokesperson for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirms that an investigation is underway. Authorities in the New York City area and Western New York have been notified.
Anyone with information about this missing person is asked to contact Nick DeNora at (716) 319-0073.
