BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Zoo's resident polar bear cubs, Luna and Kali, are moving to new digs and will be off display temporarily beginning Thursday and lasting for about a week.

The zoo is moving the bears to a temporary holding area so they can adjust to their new home. The new exhibit offers more space for the growing cubs.

Luna and Kali will be sharing space with the zoo's tigers.  Since the tigers are nocturnal, they'll be taking turns with the polar bears in the display. The bears will be out during the day, while the tigers are sleeping and the tigers will be out in the evening and overnight.

Staffers say they expect it will take Luna and Kali about a week to adjust to their new surroundings, and they will be sure to let the public know ahead of time when the famous bear cubs will be back on display.

If you plan to visit the zoo to see a specific animal you're encouraged to call ahead to make sure they're available for viewing. The number to call is (716) 837-3900.
