ROCHESTER, NY-- NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch motored up and down Broad Street in downtown Rochester Thursday morning as he performed mild stunts in an 800-horsepower car.
Busch's driving exhibition was a promotion of the Cup race weekend at Watkins Glen International in Schuyler County, Aug. 8-11.
A couple of hundred people watched from sidewalks and recorded the stunts with cameras. The show, scheduled for 15 minutes, had to stop after at least one tire was shredded, after Busch made the car perform burnouts and doughnuts from the bridge on East Broad to Exchange Boulevard.
The 28-year-old native of Las Vegas has won 26 Cup series races and more than $54 million in his career. Add Busch's victories in the Nationwide and Truck Series, and he has 115 race wins in NASCAR's top three divisions.
