ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police say the gun used in a shooting last week at a downtown business college had been stolen in a 2011 burglary in St. Louis County.

Sean Johnson is accused of shooting Stevens Institute of Business and Arts financial aid director Greg Elsenrath on Tuesday in an argument over financial aid. Police say he then shot himself. Both men survived.

Police said Monday that the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Explosives and Tobacco was able to trace the history of the Kel-Tec 9 gun used in the shooting.

A St. John resident had purchased it at a gun company in Saint Ann on March 2nd, 2011. That gun owner was the victim of a burglary in November 2011. The Kel-Tec 9 was among four weapons stolen in that burglary.
