PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A nearly 8-square-mile wildfire just west of Prescott is threatening a community that was once home to the '70s pop duo Capitan and Tennille.

More firefighters were headed to the Doce (DOH'-see) fire in the Prescott National Forest Wednesday, with about 600 expected to be on the scene by the end of the day.

Crews anchored the fire on the south end, while air tankers and helicopters attacked it on the north under dry and windy conditions, and dozers built lines on the western side.

The fire that broke out before noon Tuesday remained at zero percent containment.

Winds from the southwest were pushing the fire north toward American Ranch, an equestrian community once home to Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille, known for "Love Will Keep Us Together."

Some 460 homes have been evacuated.
