COLDEN, N.Y. (AP) - The Erie County Sheriff's office says a 24-year-old man is dead after a car he was riding in crashed into trees in the Town of Colden.
The sheriff's office says 24-year-old Matthew Goss of Colden was a passenger in the car driven by 23-year-old Joshua Stromecki, also of Colden. The vehicle went off Irish Road around 4:20 a.m. Sunday when Stromecki lost control and veered across the opposite lane of traffic.
Goss was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stromecki was flown to ECMC via Mercy Flight. Deputies say he is being charged with driving while intoxicated.
