A quick test may be able to tell whether the flu shot will work for you.
Researchers at Emory University developed a test that can predict the immune response to flu vaccines.
They screen specific genes in white blood cells. if certain genes are turned "on" the chances of developing a strong immune response to the flu is ninety percent.
They used data from studies of people who got the flu shot from 2007 to 2009.
Experts say more studies are needed to confirm the results, but they hope the test could help during flu pandemics.
