You've heard the various sun-safety messages, especially recommendations to wear sunscreen... but what happens if you still end up with a sunburn?
Experts say the minute you see any sign of skin reddening, get out of the sun. It can take four to six hours for the symptoms of sunburn to develop, so a little pink could mean a lot of red later.
Experts also say it's important to moisturize your skin and drink lots of water. This will help prevent dehydration.
Doctors say taking an anti-inflammatory drug -- like ibuprofen -- for a couple days after getting a sunburn could reduce swelling and redness.
