Sleep Improves Behavior in Kids

A little extra sleep may go a long way in improving kids' behavior.

Canadian researchers say kids ages 7 to 11 showed significant improvements in their ability to control emotions and were more alert in school when they got an extra half hour of sleep at night.

previous estimates showed more than half of school age children go to bed past 9 p-m.

kids who slept an hour less than they normally do did worse on measures of alertness and behavior.
