Colon cancer patients may want to avoid starchy, high-carb foods.
Researchers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston tracked the diets of more than a thousand patients with advanced, stage iii colon cancer.
Those who consumed the most carbs had an 80-percent increased risk that their cancer would return... compared with those who ate the fewest number of carbohydrates.
The effect was even more pronounced in those who were overweight or obese.
This study does -not- prove carbs directly lead to cancer recurrences... more studies are needed.
