Taking vitamin "b" supplements might offer a minimal stroke benefit.

Researchers in China looked at the outcomes of more than fifty thousand adults who participated in clinical trials testing the effect of vitamin "b" on stroke.

They found those taking the vitamin had a seven percent lower risk of stroke.

They say how vitamin "b" reacts in the body depends on several different factors -- like blood levels of other vitamins, and whether the patient has kidney disease or high blood pressure.

Experts always advise patients to talk to their doctor before starting any new supplements.

Past studies have suggested vitamin b might increase the risk for some of these issues, like heart attack and stroke. however this review of research only found a benefit linked to the vitamin.
