A new study reveals the majority of middle aged women are not happy with their physical appearance.
In fact, only 12-percent of women over the age of 50 said they were satisfied with their body shape and size.
These women were more likely to have a lower body mass index, fewer dieting behaviors and better overall functioning.
They also exercised more each week ... and said they worked hard to maintain body satisfaction.
But despite being content with their body size, many of these women were still unhappy with other aspects of their appearance -- like their stomach, face and skin.
Data from more than 17-hundred women over the age of 50 was used in the study.
