NIAGARA FALLS, NY - A North Tonawanda native has come back home to take part in this weekend's Thunder of Niagara Air Show.

Colonel Steven Brodfuehrer is a 1982 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and currently serves as the commanding officer for the Marine Tilt Rotor Test and Evaluation Squadron, a group of pilots who fly and test military airplanes, among them the MV-22B known as the Osprey.

Brodfuehrer said, "I am extremely proud to be back in Western New York, particularly on the anniversary of 9-11-- ten years. The important thing about what you are seeing around here and what's going on, is it's not about these machines, it is about the young men and women of this great nation who are sacrificing every single day to keep this nation safe from another 9-11 from ever happening again."

Colonel Brodfuehrer and his crew will be on hand to answer questions about the Osprey both Saturday and Sunday at the Niagara Falls Airbase.
