BUFFALO, N.Y. - It's opening day for the Buffalo Bisons.
Baseball season in the Queen City officially starts at 2:05 p.m. when The Herd takes on the Rochester Red Wings.
The Bisons 2013 season is the first as the AAA affiliate for the Toronto Blue Jays. Players will be wearing the new red, white, and blue uniforms.
The team is also guaranteeing a win today. If not, all fans in attendance will receive a free ticket good for one admission to a Friday Night Bash later in the season.
There are also several new food items for sale, including a nod to our neighbors to the north: poutine, aka fries covered with gravy and cheese curds.
The team's new Heritage Room on the main concourse offers a glimpse into the 128 year history of baseball in Buffalo. Various pieces of baseball memorabilia are on display. There is also a Buffalo Bisons Hall of Fame wall.
