Depew, N.Y. - Pizza has gone Irish! At least that's the case at Paddy's Pizza in Depew, where they're serving up a new twist on an old favorite.
It's called Shepherd's Pie Pizza, and it's making waves in Western New York. Owner, Patrick Harris, says he got the idea for the pizza pie while preparing for Buffalo's Pizza Bash last month. The event brought dozens of pizzerias together in one spot, with one condition: each restaurant must prepare a completely unique pizza. Paddy's Shepherd's Pie Pizza was so unique, it took the top prize in that category.
Since then, Harris says he gets several orders a day for Shepherd's Pie Pizza. The pizza features a normal crust topped with gravy, ground-beef, hash browns, peas, cheese, and of course, more gravy. According to Harris, it's not just a pizza, it's an entire meal!
Paddy's Shepherd's Pie Pizza has been such a hit, several customers have nominated the restaurant to be on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives". You can help bring the TV show to WNY by emailing them.
Paddy's Pizza is open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
(And here's a tip: be sure to order some of Paddy's Garlic Bread-Bites on the side -- they're amazing!)
The pizzeria is also home to an award-winning Breakfast Pizza that's served daily. They'll even be open early on Mother's Day to take your Breakfast Pizza orders.
