Williamsville, N.Y. - Having dinner at Prosit! restaurant on Main Street in Williamsville is more than just a meal... it's a unique dining experience. For starters, the restaurant only serves two types of cuisine: Polish and German.
"I'm Polish, my husband is German," said Janice Schlau, owner and chef of Prosit! "So I created a menu that has both."
The restaurant itself is also very unique. The space is small, but cozy with Polish and German artifacts and collectibles on display. When you walk inside, it feels like you are walking into someone's home.
"We've included collections and family portraits ... and there's a lot of souveniers from Poland and the [beer] steins are family collections."
All of the food at Prosit! is homemade by Janice using Old World, family recipes. And since Janice does all the work, the restaurant is only open a few nights a week: Wednesday - Saturday from 5 o'clock to close.
And if weather permits, be sure to walk outside to the restaurant's Beer Garden, where you can enjoy one of Prosits! many imported German and Polish beers.
If you're planning on visiting Prosit! Be sure to make a reservation. The restaurant may be small, but it's very popular!
