BUFFALO, N.Y. - Western New York's contrubutions to aviation history are countless, and they're on display at a museum within the walls of HSBC Arena.

From Larry Bell to Glenn Curtiss, the aviation industry literally took off in the Buffalo-Niagara region in the early 20th century. The P-39 Aerocobra, the X-1 Jet, the helicopter, a string of inventions that changed the world, all coming out of the minds and factories of Western New York.

The Ira G. Ross Aerospace museum pays tribute to the lasting impact of Western New York inginuity. It is located right next to the Sabres Store in HSBC Arena, accessable through the South Park entrance.

Right now the museum, however is undergoing repairs due to water damage. It will be open next weekend, September 18th & 19th for the public to view a brand new exhibit called "Bringing Jenny Home". The centerpiece is a restored 1917 Curtiss JN-4 bi-plane.
