Suspected Meth Lab Discovered in Allegany County

INDEPENDENCE, NY - State Police say they are on the scene of a suspected meth lab in Allegany County.

Troopers and other law enforcement officials are on Forsythe Road in the Town of Independence.

It all started with a traffic stop in the Village of Wellsville Wednesday night. Police arrested Zackery Billings, 23, of Wellsville, for criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs and for having inadequate headlights.

A passenger in Billings' car, Timothy Billings, 22, of Whitesville, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Further investigation led to Wellsville Police obtaining a search warrant for the Forsythe Road address. Members of the department, along with State Police and members of the Southern Tier Regional Task Force, arrived on the scene early Thursday morning and uncovered a suspected methamphetamine lab and several guns.
