BUFFALO, N.Y. - A 16-week-old puppy that was set on fire this week on the city's east side is getting better.
Vets at the Buffalo Small Animal Shelter say the Jack Russell Terrier puppy, given the name Phoenix, is eating and the swelling in his face has gone down.
The shelter has received donations from around the country.
They've also received many adoption inquires, but their first priority is to get Phoenix healthy.
The dog was spotted on fire Monday by a neighbor on Herman Street. No owner has claimed the dog.
Anyone with information on the owner of the Jack Russell Terrier should call (716) 851-5694.
Anyone wishing to make a donation towards the care of Phoenix can do so at any Key Bank location (Herman St. Puppy Reward Fund).
