Gusty winds across much of Western New York caused some minor damage on Sunday.
A utility pole that was toppled blocked traffic on Penora Street south of Broadway for several hours Sunday afternoon. City of Niagara Falls Deputy Director of Public Works John Caso sent us the attached photo of a traffic sign that was knocked down at Third and Main streets around 2 p.m.
There were scattered reports of downed power lines and a few power outages.
Peak wind gusts reported in the area: Niagara Falls Airport 54mph, Olcott 50mph, Youngstown 48mph, Buffalo Airport 45mph, Barcelona 44mph, and Alabama 44mph.
