The Florida Primary is now a day away, and Mitt Romney has a double-digit lead on Newt Gingrich.

For Romney a win could pave the way to the GOP nomination.

For Gingrich, an upset could send a strong message to rally his conservative base.

With the all-important Florida primary a day away, Newt Gingrich is asking conservatives to keep his contest with Mitt Romney alive. "I believe the Republican Party will not nominate a pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-tax increase moderate from Massachusetts," said Newt Gingrich, (R) Presidential Candidate.

The latest NBC News poll shows Romney has taken a 15-point lead in a state with 50 delegates on the line, and it's winner take all.

Ron Paul isn't campaigning in Florida, and Rick Santorum went back to Pennsylvania to tend to his ailing daughter.

That makes Florida a virtual two-man contest.

While Romney has unleashed a blistering series of ads, he says that's not why Gingrich is falling behind. "He is looking for some kind of excuse but I am afraid the real reason he hasn't been successful connecting with the people of Florida is because of his message and his failure to connect to the needs of the people in this state," said Mitt Romney, (R) Presidential Candidate.

In Florida, a nomination fight that's gotten personal.
