Palace officials have confirmed that topless pictures published in a French tabloid are of the Duchess of Cambridge.
The pictures were taken while Prince William and Kate were vacationing at a private chateau in Provence.
In an official statement, Saint James Palace officials said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were hugely saddened when they learned of the publication.
The palace went on to say that it was a quote, "grotesque" invasion of privacy and compared the photographer to the paparazzi during the life of Princess Diana.
Palace officials also said that they are pursuing legal action against the French magazine.
