A small Niagara County trucking firm called 2 On Your Side's Tipline to ask why it had not paid for its snow removal work with the city of Buffalo in South Buffalo last December.

A representative with Brodies Trucking says they signed on as a sub-contractor last winter to help haul away mounds of snow. The company sent two large dump trucks for the work.

They are questioning why they were never paid for the work and say it presents a hardship with costs of fuel and overtime for the truck drivers.

It turns out a city check was cut this week for the contractor who in turn will pay Brodies Trucking. A spokesperson for the City Comptroller's office says they got the paperwork from the Public Works Department earlier this week.

A city spokesperson responded that contracts for snow removal specify that city payment could take three to five months. They must also investigate damage claims and seek approval from the control board before payment can be made.
