BUFFALO, NY - Dr. James Corasanti will spend the next several months behind bars for a DWI conviction in connection to a fatal accident that killed an 18-year-old girl.

Judge Sheila DiTullio sentenced Corasanti to one year in jail, $1,000 fine, revoked his driver's license for six-months and will require him to have an interlock device on his car for 12-months.

Corasanti was convicted by a jury in May of misdemeanor DWI and found not guilty of the most serious charges against him, including vehicular manslaughter.

Alix Rice was struck and killed by Dr. Corasanti's vehicle while she was riding her longboard on Heim Road last year.

He will serve his time at the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden.  His attorneys say he will not appeal his sentence.
