(AP) - President Barack Obama has congratulated rival Mitt Romney "on a spirited campaign" and declared he's confident he's "got the votes to win."
The president is spending Election Day in his hometown of Chicago, after a final campaign rally last night in Iowa.
He's been doing radio and satellite TV interviews and visited a campaign office to thank workers and make some calls. He also plans to play basketball with his aides.
Romney, meanwhile, is making a last-minute appeal for votes in Cleveland and Pittsburgh after voting this morning in Massachusetts.
He told a Virginia radio station (WRVA) he added today's stops to avoid having to look back on his campaign "with anything other than the greatest degree of satisfaction."
He'll return to Massachusetts for what he hopes will be a victory celebration tonight at the Boston Convention Center.
